The El Centro Chess Club is an official student organization of El Centro College located at the historic West End of downtown Dallas, Texas. Since beginning in the Spring 2008 semester, the Club already has several active players who meet at least weekly to find and challenge worthy opponents in the Royal Game.

The Club was created to serve the entire community—students, faculty, and staff—of El Centro College and satellite campuses by promoting an interest in learning, playing, and competing in the game of chess. The Club's future plans include: creating clinics and workshops for beginners and experienced players; actively promoting Chess in Education through community service activities; and fielding a competitive collegiate team.
